My Thoughts: Act 1

I already shared my thoughts on Act 2 and 3, so I might as well share them for Act 1 also!

WARNING: If you are possibly going to read the book in the future or have not gotten to this point in the book, I highly recommend that you do NOT read any further.

Short Summary:

Basically a intro for all of the characters. 

Thoughts

Leanora is a nice girl, but she never has a chance to show anyone because they judge her too fast. Merlin Van Tornhought is one of the people that judge Leanora. He rolled up a window to get the 'stink' of her out of his school where Leanora had her dance recital. Merlin is definitely not my favorite character. Esther seems really cute. I think it is cool that the author is choosing a really small kid to be a narrator. She talks funny though. Percelle seems to not care that Leanora's mom died because of the roads. I don't like him either. Sara seems really kind and a good mother-like person for Esther to have. I am sort of confused about Johnny Reeves. He is a preacher, but he didn't seem like the type of person to join the Klan. I think that some time in the book, Iris is going to get arrested. Dr. Flitt is okay. I didn't really think much of him. Harvey and Viola is that kind of old couple that fights all the time. Reynard seems really nice also. I think he will help lots of people.
